Aims and Objectives
The Under Fives groups were set up for local parents /carers and their children and includes a Playgroup, Toy Library and Drop-In. They offer a safe, stimulating place for children to socialise integrate and make new friends in a purpose built nursery especially for under fives.
The Toy Library and Drop-In groups open two afternoons a week. For a small charge you can borrow toys, puzzles and games. Parents and carers can call into the sessions anytime between 1.30pm to 4.30pm on Monday and Thursday afternoons. When children are two years of age their names can be put on the waiting list for the Playgroup. The co-ordinator or toy librarian will be pleased to give you an application form. There is also a comprehensive list of policies and procedures available to parents/carers on request.
We would encourage from birth parents/carers to attend these sessions -we have a range of resources to support parents/carers and young children.
Caxton House Playgroup is for children aged between two and half years and five years. Its purpose is to provide good quality childcare. Coming to the playgroup can be an enjoyable and stimulating experience which will encourage your child to develop emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially in a warm, caring and friendly environment. The waiting list is administered on a first come first served basis depending on age. The nursery is part of Caxton House Community Centre which offers many other resources to the local community.
